Instant Knitting Gratification…

My latest knitting addiction is the pattern called Fetching by Cheryl Niamath (can be found on Ravelry.com). These cabled fingerless gloves are truly as described…near instant gratification. I have knitted two pairs in less than 3 days for holiday gifts.  The pattern says to use Debbie Bliss CashmerinoAran. I used a stash yarn Reynolds Cricket and it was a total pain to work with..so I recommend sticking with what the pattern calls for

Soap-strava-ganza!!

So today was the big soap making day with Lydia. Two hours later we have 3 scrumptious batches of  home made milk soap. For this recipe we used frozen cows milk from the Olde Sow Farm in Lubec. I think the soap will have a creamier texture and more moisturizing result using the cows milk vs goats. We made a batch eatch of Cinnamon Coffee, the Hubs favorite, Ylang Ylang and Oatmeal Orange Clove.  Now just have to wait 6 weeks to cure before use but well worth the wait!

8 Days of Gifts

So because i’m computer challenged I tried to link my pictures of the end result of Carrie’s snowman/Hanukkah tin from our swap..and failed miserably..so I will post here!

Little Tins and Things Swap on Ravelry

Ok..so to start with ..THE most adorable snowman tin with hand knit accents and buttons. Tucked inside were 8 little gifts all wrapped in pink tissue paper. Each one was labeled with a bow and a number. The first night I got the little tin of mocha mints, then a package of vanilla coffee, espresso candy(she paid attention to the fact that coffee is my life force..lol) there were pink DMC floss and buttons and beads,a tin of organic tea, Patons Grace pink crochet cotton, pink gloves with pink buttons(oh..did I mention we both LOVE pink?) My final gift on the 8th night was the GORGEOUS stitch markers hand made by Carrie…can’t wait to use them! Thank you so much for putting so much time and thought into my tin!

8 Craaaaaazy Nights….and a Ravelry gift from Kansas!!

I belong to a group on Ravelry.com that swaps tins with little items associated with knitting or other themes. This year I was paired with a super adorable lady named Carrie from Kansas! This snowman tin arrived yesterday…tucked inside are 8 little gifts individually wrapped and numbered for Hanukkah! She hand knit the hat and scarf parts and used buttons…how original!! I opened my first package last night and it was a cute tin of Cappuccino mints!  I sent a “box O Maine” to Kansas…hope she enjoys it as much as I am enjoying hers!
